Migration researchers awarded the Top Wiley Prize for 2022

Stretton Institute population program director Associate Professor Yan Tan and Dr Xuchun Liu from the Department of Geography, Environment and Population were awarded the top Wiley Prize for 2022 by the journal Geographical Research, the Institute of Australian Geographers, and Wiley Publishers for their article “Measuring diaspora populations and their socio-economic profiles: The example of Australia’s Chinese diaspora”.

Their research was supported by the ARC Discovery grant (DP170101726: Transnationalism and diaspora: Enhancing demography’s contribution to migration and development).
