Performance Studies

Own the stage with your enhanced musical skills.

Performance studies provides students with the opportunity to concentrate on music performance and enhances technical mastery within an area of specialisation.

During your studies at The Elder Conservatorium of Music, you will develop a broad knowledge of the repertoire and advance your skills in the practice of the profession. The program focuses on traditional approaches to classical and jazz performance in addition to studies of 20th century music, and includes weekly one-to-one lessons with performance staff. You will develop knowledge and unique skills in your chosen instrument and will have your own project assigned, which will demonstrate familiarity with and skills in the formulation of creative ideas and enhancement of your performance.

Their teaching style and care for me make me adapt to learning in a new environment with confidence. What makes my degree unique are the performance skills, unique repertoire analysis methods and the pursuit of music performance."

"I didn’t major in music during my undergraduate studies, so I took this opportunity to study hard. Associate Professor Dr. Elizabeth Koch, who oversees the Music Master programs, offered me a lot of help. I can learn music theory and music history in courses such as musicianship. I also participated in Bella Voce, singing with excellent vocal teachers. My teacher motivates me to think, feel and tell how each part of my body works to make my voice more expressive. The progress I have made during this year encourage me to continue to move on the road of music."
