Honours Expression of Interest

Interested in furthering your career? Start with an Honours degree. 

Students interested in applying for Honours within the Faculty of Arts, Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences and Elder Conservatorium can apply below. Please note this is an Expression of Interest form.

All Honours Programs are an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of one year (24 units). Part-time study is subject to a formal approval process and may not be available for all disciplines. If you are interested in part-time honours study,  please contact the Faculty of Arts prior to completing this form.

Is your preference to study part-time or full time?
Please note that only French Studies, German Studies and Music Honours programs are on offer for mid-year intake.

Students wishing to undertake an Honours Program in Film Studies, must have completed an undergraduate degree in a recognised tertiary institution which has English as the medium of instruction and assessment.

Consideration for eligibility will be given to students who have completed a major or equivalent in one of the following disciplines:

  • Film Studies
  • Creative Writing
  • English
  • Media

Completion of a major in one of the above disciplines does not guarantee entry. All applications (including those disciplines outside of the above criteria) will be assessed on an individual basis by the Film Studies Honours Convenor for suitability.

  • If you are a current student expecting to commence your honours music program in the following semester, your last performance examination will be used as an audition;
  • If you have completed a B. Music at The University of Adelaide 12 months or more, you are required to present a 25 minute program of your intended area of study. Please contact the Elder Conservatorium of Music for more details.
  • If you have completed a B. Music at another tertiary institute, you are required to complete a video audition for your intedned area of study.
