The Constantine Trypanis Prize

Whereas Mr B Konstas, proprietor of the Greek News generously provided an endowment to be used to fund an annual prize for outstanding students studying modern Greek, in memory of Professor Trypanis.

The following rules are hereby made:

  1. The prize shall be called “The Constantine Trypanis Prize”.
  2. The value of the prize shall be $750.
  3. The prize shall be awarded annually to the student who, in the opinion of the examiner is the most outstanding Level III student in Modern Greek Studies.
  4. If, in any particular year, there is no candidate suitable for the prize, then no award shall be made.
  5. If two or more candidates are of equal merit the prize shall be divided equally amongst those candidates.
  6. These rules may be varied from time to time by the Faculty of Arts, but the title and purpose of the prize shall not be changed.
