AMEB SA & NT Recognises its High Achievers of 2023

On Saturday 6 April 2024, the achievements of students participating in AMEB exams in 2023 were celebrated in Elder Hall, with over 50 prizes awarded across many instrumental categories, 27 Associate and Licentiate diplomas conferred and almost 40 achieving their Certificate of Performance qualifications. Certificates were presented by Professor Jennie Shaw and Dr Melisande Thompson, as well as Rodney Smith on behalf of the Music Teachers' Association SA, and Gina Macri, President of the Accompanists' Guide of SA. Recipients ranged in age from 7 to 62! For a complete list of prize winners and graduates, please visit the AMEB website

Interwoven in the program were performances by James Skelton on clarinet (selections from Paganini's Capriccio, Op. 1 No. 24, arr. Karody-Kreutzer), Teresa Kennedy on piano (Liebeslied [Widmung] by Robert Schumann, arr. Liszt) and Lily Bai and Tegan Beck on piano and flute (Pan et Les Bergers) by Mouquet). Congratulations to all those who received their awards, and to their teachers – many of whom are current or ex-Elder Con staff members!
