Free Mozart Opera Screening: Don Giovanni

The first screening in the Alliance Francaise Free Screenings: Operas de Mozart series is the comic melodrama, Don Giovanni. In this new production, the energy of the young cast melds into Jean-François Sivadier’s theatrical mise en scene under the artistic direction of Jérémie Rhorer, in what is a veritable show of seduction, desire and demise. Introduction by Luke Dollman, Deputy Director of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, who will put the opera in an historical context, talk about the performers and the points of interest in this particular production as well as the Aix en Provence Festival and its place in the music world. Refreshments provided.

Free Mozart Screening: Cosi Fan Tutte

The second screening in the Alliance Francaise Free Screenings: Operas de Mozart series is Cosi Fan Tutte. In this new production, filmmaker and stage director Christophe Honoré explores the power relationships between the characters who are ruled by desire. Introduction by Luke Dollman, Deputy Director of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, who will put the opera in an historical context, talk about the performers and the points of interest in this particular production as well as the Aix en Provence Festival and its place in the music world.
