We are delighted to have you join us, in the venerable and recently rejuvenated surroundings of Elder Hall, for a richly varied and exciting musical journey. Our program will, as always, showcase the finest of Adelaide’s musicians enriched by distinguished guests from interstate and overseas.

Evening Concert Series



A Grand Crossroads: The Glory of the English Baroque

Music by Handel, Purcell, Avison, Hellendaal and more. The elegance of the late 17th century permeates this exciting program of baroque gems from the land of the rose.



Sketches of Spain

Inspired by Rodrigo’s iconic Concierto de Aranjuez, Miles Davis’ and Gil Evan’s masterful work Sketches of Spain takes centre stage in this program celebrating the evocative sounds of the wind orchestra.




Brilliant young violinist Tianyou Ma takes on Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic violin concerto with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, conducted by Keith Crellin OAM.

From Start to Finnish

Two of Australia’s finest chamber musicians grace the stage in the opening concert of the season.



Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra

The shimmering arpeggios of Glière's harp concerto are the calm before the storm, prior to fate knocking at the door with the ominous first four notes of Beethoven’s fifth symphony.



A Quatre Mains

Pianists Konstantin Shamray and Michael Ierace bring Petrushka to life once again in this fiery version for piano four hands.

  • Evening concerts

    • Purchase a subscription to four or more concerts and save 25%!
    • Tickets: Regular ticket prices are $30 Adult, $25 Conc. and $19 Student. Special pricing applies for the following concerts: Titan on 13 June ($35/$25/$19), ASQ Day on 14 July ($25/$20/$15), and Guitarissimo on 17 October ($25/$20/$15).
    • Box Office: Tickets can be purchased and collected from the box office in Elder Hall one hour prior to each performance.
    • Duration: Approximately 2 hours duration, including interval.
  • Lunchtime concerts

    • Fridays at 1:10pm, doors open at 12:30pm.
    • Tickets: $14 general admission at the door.
    • Gold Pass: Purchase a Gold Pass subscription to save up to 30% on the price of entry.
    • Concert Duration: Approximately 50 minutes, no interval.
    • Please be aware there is no parking available on Fridays.

    Available in the University Car Park, Gate 23 off of North Terrace. Please allow extra time for parking during peak periods.

    Lift access is available from the eastern side of Elder Hall.
