The Department of Media offers a unique blend of industry skills, theoretical knowledge and opportunities for applied media practice in a fast changing world. 

Our courses are developed in close consultation with industry, and as the state’s leading Research University, we draw on the expertise of staff with experience in fields such as digital media, gaming, journalism, film, graphic art and transnational media. Gain Practical skills through our Journalism program, our Digital Production courses, and our summer and winter schools, all of which focus on industry relevant skills designed to equip students with the abilities necessary to transition seamlessly into media careers. 

Develop an historical and contemporary understanding of media industries in Australia and overseas through engagement in courses such as Exploring TV & Radio, News in the Digital Age, and our Japanese Media Industries and Cultures tour of Kyoto.
