Healthy Eating Policy and Political Philosophy

On 22 February 2022, the Food Values Research Group co-hosted a panel discussion together with the Stretton Institute on healthy eating policy.

During the webinar, we heard from Assoc Prof Anne Barnhill and Dr Matteo Bonotti about their new book Healthy Eating Policy and Political Philosophy: A Public Reason Approach. Anne and Matteo spoke about the different values people place on eating as well as the place of policy in shaping how people eat, focusing in particular on the public reason approach as a framework for policy in this space. We also heard from panellists Dr Matthew Ruby, Prof Rachel Ankeny and Dr Christopher Mayes who offered their thoughts on the issues raised in the book.
