The Department offers courses at all three levels of an Undergraduate degree. Courses can be studied as a Major or Minor in the Bachelor of Arts, and also as elective courses.
If you undertake a major in Classics, you will be studying courses which focus on many different aspects of the ancient world, including ones that concentrate on its literature (in translation), history, archaeology and culture.
You will not only acquire a knowledge of the ancient world and an appreciation of its legacy but also develop skills in close reading and interpretation of both primary and secondary source material. And you can improve your language skills by studying a semester of Latin on campus and do further Latin courses online with the University of New England to have them credited towards your Classics major (or even pick up some Ancient Greek).
