Department of Geography, Environment and Population awards ceremony goes virtual

gep-awards

Last week the Department of Geography, Environment and Population awarded prizes to the top students of 2019, virtually.

Due to social distancing restrictions, the annual prize giving ceremony moved to an online format and was held via Zoom. The event was a terrific success. It was wonderful to hear from students of their appreciation for the value of the ideas and opportunities studying GEP presents. Also in (virtual) attendance were long time staff members (now retired) Emeritus Professor Nick Harvey and Dr Dianne Rudd who provided special insight into the history of prizes in Geography and Environmental Studies.
