Our 2021 concert series gets under way with a performance by the illustrious Seraphim Trio. Haydn’s Piano Trio in C Major is full of grace, intimacy and humor, with an especially virtuosic piano part – and still, his role in the early development of the piano trio form is often overlooked. At the other end of the spectrum, Brahms’ Trio in C Major from 1882 is a work of symphonic grandeur that in many ways represents the culmination of the genre’s inspired tradition.
