The Adelaide Language Festival 2014 was held in mid May at the North Terrace campus.
This two-day festival welcomed staff, students and the general public to celebrate languages, and learn more about the multiple cognitive advantages of multilingualism.

Professor Roly Sussex OAM, University of Queensland delivered a keynote address. Professor Sussex OAM, spoke about why learning languages gives you a healthier mind in a healthier body, and makes you popular, attractive and successful.
Professor Ghil'ad Zuckermann,
D.Phil. (Oxford), Chair of Linguistics and Endangered Languages at the University of Adelaide, explored the ethical, aesthetic and utilitarian reasons for the reclamation of sleeping beauty Aboriginal tongues.
Some of the language sessions on offer provided a crash course in languages from all over the globe.
